France v Ukraine

(7 October 2020, 20.10 GMT)

Manager Didier Deschamps from France isn’t completely thrilled with this scheduled friendly and I can’t blame him. The World Cup holders logically hold the best players of the biggest clubs. Which means many games for those footballers and a useless friendly like this one is only 90 minutes of holding back so you won’t get injured.

Especially since the Nations League games are right around the corner with France facing Portugal and Croatia. Two incredibly tough games of course, France won their first two match rounds and are topping the table. Which means if the others wants to get something from this group stage. They all need to attack the crownholders in France.

In their last fourteen matches, the hosts only dropped points twice and this both against Turkey (1-1 draw and 2-0 defeat). Andriy Shevchenko, yes that legend, is the manager of Ukraine and has done superbly. The visitors didn’t lose for 11 games in a row before facing Spain in September and getting trashed 4-0.

Their next opponents aren’t quite easy too: France, Germany, Spain, Poland & Germany. Realistically, it could happen that Ukraine ends up with 0 points from all these games and it wouldn’t be something to be ashamed of. Starting with this fixture, I’m going with -1.25 France which has odds of 1.51. at BetPat as a good shout here.
